After Sylvain Willenz graduated from the Royal College of Art in London in 2003, he started his own design studio in Brussels. Since then he has designed mainly furniture, lighting, and objects for international labels such as Hem, Durlet, and Established & Sons. In 2009, Willenz was named Designer of the Year by Stichting Interieur and Weekend Knack. At some point in his life, Willenz wanted to become a cartoonist. This predilection for graphics can still be found in his designs today, in combination with a detailed search for simplicity and elegance.
