Wave is a collection of glass vases based on the large glass panels of the MAS. In Ruben’s eyes, these glass panels are a sublime work of art and embody, like no other, the beauty of the material and its infinite application. Because of the pronounced shape and texture/structure, he chose an honest, subtle colour: a very light green. In this way, the shape and the material remain at the forefront. The design consists of the same repetitive shape that determines the length of the work. By playing with different diameters, there are several different shapes and applications. The linear construction and structure of the wooden mould create a unique pattern in the glass. In this way, Deriemaeker translates his passion for wood and his origins as a manufacturer/designer.
